Zimbabwe and China to cooperate on education exchange programmes

The two sides have agreed to collaborate on teacher training programmes

Zimbabwe and China have signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in higher and secondary education, as reported
ZBC News, a partner of TV BRICS. The countries are already actively interacting in this area, the online publication noted.

“We intend to carryout exchange programmes in education management and between schools, teaching staff and students. Our countries have been working together for a long time and we shall continue doing as for the development of our countries,” Ma Jun, Director-General of Shanxi Provincial Education.

Zimbabwe’s Minister of Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development Amon Murwira said the exchange programmes will give students the opportunity to learn about the role of education in the development of other societies and cultures.

The memorandum of understanding signed by representatives of the Zimbabwean ministry and Shaanxi provincial authorities is valid for five years, after which it will be automatically renewed.
