XVI International Film Festival “Salt of the Earth” receives more than 500 applications from 12 countries
“Salt of the Earth” will be held in Samara from 18 to 22 September
The XVI International Film Festival “Salt of the Earth” will be held in Samara from 18 to 22 September. The founder of the festival is the Volga Region Historical and Cultural Foundation. The project is implemented with the support of the regional government, the administration of Samara, the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and the Club of Honourable Citizens of the Samara Region.
This year the competition received more than 500 applications from 12 countries. The International Film Festival “Salt of the Earth” is held to preserve the unified spiritual and cultural-historical space of Russia, to strengthen cultural ties among the peoples of Russia and our compatriots living in foreign countries, as well as to promote the unique Russian culture and the culture of the peoples of the world, based on spiritual and moral values.
International Media Network TV BRICS is an information partner of the event and organises special screenings of films by filmmakers from BRICS countries within the framework of international film competitions, contributing to the promotion of Russian culture and cinematography in the international film and media space and cultural exchange within BRICS.
During the festival days there will be a programme of special screenings of films from India, Brazil, China and South Africa.
On 18 September at 14:10 and 19 September at 20:12 local time in the Small Hall of the Centre of Russian Cinematography “Khudozhestvenny” (Samara) will be held special screenings of the films “To India with Love”, “Blessing”, “Rasta – Artist”, “Poetic Lishui”.
The International Film Festival “Salt of the Earth” is the oldest film forum in the Samara region and has been held since 2008.
