Xi Jinping emphasises the need for high-quality new energy development in China
The Chinese leader said it at a meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee
Xi Jinping emphasised that high-quality new energy development in China should be vigorously promoted to make greater contributions to building a clean world. Xi Jinping made the statement while presiding over the 12th collective study with members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. This is reported by
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
Noting that energy security is linked to the overall situation of the country’s socio-economic development, he said vigorously developing clean energy and promoting green and low-carbon transformation have become the consensus of the international community to combat global climate change.
Xi Jinping recalled that energy security is linked to the country’s overall economic and social development. He acknowledged that China’s energy sector still faces a number of challenges, such as “enormous demand pressure, multiple supply constraints and the difficult task of a green and low-carbon transition”. However, the Chinese leader emphasised that the solution to these challenges is to vigorously develop new energy sources.
Among other things, the Chinese President called for accelerated construction of charging station networks to support the rapid development of new energy vehicles.
