Xi Jinping and Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discuss prospects for strategic partnership development

They signed a number of agreements

Chinese President Xi Jinping held a meeting with President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Xi Jinping expressed recognition of the UAE’s importance as China’s strategic partner, stressing the stable development of relations between the two countries. This is reported by
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

Marking the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the Chinese President emphasised their importance and expressed his intention to further develop the strategic partnership between China and the UAE.

The Chinese leader said he recently responded to letters from Chinese language learners in the UAE, urging them to master the Chinese language, learn more about China and contribute to strengthening the friendship between the two countries.

Xi Jinping said China intends to further support the “Hundred Schools Project” for Chinese language education, promote the construction of the Chinese Culture Centre in the UAE, and expand humanitarian exchanges.

In response, the UAE President affirmed the importance and high level of mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries, recognising China as a strategic partner with a long-term perspective.

The President added that the UAE highly values and actively supports the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilisation Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, will continue to actively participate in the joint construction of the Belt and Road, and is ready to establish close communication and cooperation with China at multilateral platforms, making positive contributions to peace, development and prosperity of the region and the world at large.

At the end of the meeting, cooperation agreements on investment, Belt and Road development, scientific research, nuclear energy, education, culture and tourism were signed, underlining the two sides’ keenness to further strengthen partnership and cooperation in various fields.
