VII BRICS International School to be held in Moscow on 13-18 November
The
VII BRICS International School will be held on 13-18 November 2023 in Moscow. It will be hosted by the Russian National Committee on BRICS Research (BRICS NCR, Russia).
The BRICS International School stands as an exceptional scientific and educational initiative with the primary goal of nurturing young specialists who specialise in the study of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa). This programme focuses on developing expertise in areas such as politics, economics, humanitarian affairs, and various other domains that pertain to the interactions among these five nations. It also welcomes individuals who possess a keen interest in understanding BRICS dynamics.
The participants of the VII BRICS International School are young diplomats, scientists and researchers, journalists, entrepreneurs, students and post-graduate students from Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa aged between 18 and 35. This year it is planned to invite representatives of countries within the sphere of influence or sphere of interest of each BRICS country. Countries that will officially join the alliance from 2024, namely Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates, will also be invited to participate.
Participants are provided with a specially designed and extensive training programme, divided into thematic modules and implemented in cooperation with partner organisations, renowned think-tanks based in Moscow.
The mentors of the VII BRICS International School include leading experts and practitioners from Russia and around the world. Among them are representatives of governmental and non-governmental organisations, ministries and agencies, as well as experienced specialists from think-tanks specialising in BRICS research.
The VII BRICS International School provides participants with an opportunity to expand their professional knowledge, enhance their communication skills and delve into the nuances of cooperation between the BRICS countries, including understanding their global positions, the possibilities of institutionalising the BRICS structure, as well as the goals and priorities of this group for the future.
The programme is held on an annual basis with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
In 2023, the programme will again be supported by grants from the Presidential Grants Fund and the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Support Fund, MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The main goal of the VII BRICS International School is to educate a new generation of experts with a deep understanding of BRICS and strengthen youth cooperation within the framework of this structure. In addition, the school is designed to provide support for promising projects and concepts proposed by young leaders from BRICS countries. The School is expected to provide a platform for promoting intercultural understanding, strengthening diplomatic ties and promoting innovation, which will ultimately contribute to the long-term sustainability and growth of the BRICS alliance.
