Vietnam-China trade exceeds US$31 billion in first two months of 2025

China remains Vietnam’s largest import market

In the first two months of 2025, total import and export turnover between Vietnam and China surpassed US$31 billion, as reported by
Vietnam News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

Vietnam’s imports from China reached US$23.3 billion, marking a 20.7 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. In turn, exports to China saw US$7.9 billion.

The Vietnam Ministry of Agriculture and Environment reported that Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports in February were estimated at US$350 million, bringing the total for the first two months of the year to US$724 million. Furthermore, exports of these products to Thailand grew by 5 per cent.

China remains Vietnam’s largest import market and second-largest export destination, playing a crucial role in supplying raw materials for Vietnam’s manufacturing sector, the experts claim.

In 2024, trade between the two nations reached an all-time high of US$205 billion.
