Venezuelan team wins gold at the World Robotics Olympiad

The Venezuelan delegation included 47 participants in four categories

A team from Venezuela won the WRO Future Innovators category at the World Robotics Olympiad, which this year focused on ideas and solutions to combat the climate crisis. This is reported by
teleSUR, a partner of TV BRICS.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro expressed his congratulations to the team on social media and emphasised that the country is proud of them.

“Congratulations to the boys and girls! First place in the Iuture Innovators category. The country is proud of you!”

The members of the winning team were Angelina Julieth F. Romero, Mariana Patricia S. Garcia, and Alfredo Ali Rios, who are 16 and 17 years old. 

The jury judged their innovative project to be one of the best in the competition. 

The World Robotics Olympiad in Turkey 2024 saw the participation of 3,500 children and young people in 550 teams from over 90 countries.
