Venezuela and Russia sign cooperation agreements
Venezuela and Russia have strengthened their alliance thanks to a bilateral agenda based on mutual benefit and strong political and diplomatic relations. This was emphasised by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil after meeting with Russian Ambassador Sergey Melik-Baghdasarov during the XVIII meeting of the Russian-Venezuelan High Level Intergovernmental Commission (CIAN) in Caracas.
The Venezuelan foreign minister described the conversation as “pleasant”, noting the progress in cooperation between the two countries, as reported by
Venezolana de Television (VTV), a partner of TV BRICS.
The meeting saw the signing of new cooperation agreements in key areas such as technology, hydrocarbons, energy, aviation and information technology. The agreements, which are part of more than 300 previous agreements between the two countries, aim to increase the utilisation of Venezuela’s energy resources between 2024 and 2026.
They also address issues such as technical training, consultations on integrated security in the energy sector and the provision of petroleum services, particularly for extra-heavy oil production.
