UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation discuss plans for new season

Its head was pleased with the achievements of the country’s athletes over the past year

President of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan praised the achievements of the country’s national team in international competitions in 2023 and the first quarter of 2024. This is reported by

During the first meeting of the federation’s board of directors in 2024 at the Al Hamriyah Club headquarters, he announced future plans and discussed technical reports on the current season’s programmes. The Sheikh thanked athlete Adel Khaled for his bronze medal at the ILCA 6 Masters World Championship in Australia last month, with the sailor bringing home his fourth World Cup honour in three years.

Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan congratulated the board of directors on the success of the national team, which took first place at the 16th Arab Sailing Championships held in Kuwait from 7-11 February, winning three gold medals, one silver and one bronze. The president of the federation presented a commemorative shield to Ahmed Ali Saeed Al Ketbi, Vice President of the Club’s Board of Directors.

The board, for its part, recommended to continue working on the empowerment of women in sailing after appreciating the results achieved by female athletes in various competitions.
