UAE continues its rise in global competitiveness reports in 2024
According to
Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS, the UAE’s success is a testament to its continuous efforts to modernise its legislative framework, implement proactive initiatives that support the economy and investment, use modern technology and develop various sectors aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens.
The UAE ranked second in the world in terms of economic performance, fourth in terms of government efficiency and tenth in terms of business environment efficiency.
For the third consecutive year, the UAE ranked first in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor with a record score of 7.7. The country also ranked first in the MENA region and 18th globally in the Travel & Tourism Development Index released by the World Economic Forum.
According to the Travel & Tourism Development Index 2024, the UAE ranked fifth in the world and first among Arab countries in road quality, and tenth in the world and second among Arab countries in public transport efficiency. The country was also ranked ninth in the world and first for efficient port services.
In 2024, the UAE led in a number of indicators in the civil aviation sector, ranking first in the Air Transport Infrastructure Quality Index and third in air transport efficiency.
Additionally, in the UN e-government rankings, the UAE ranked first in the ICT infrastructure index and improved its position in the human capital index from 44th to 10th place, ranking first in Asia and the Arab world. The country ranked fifth globally in the Infrastructure Quality for Sustainable Development Index for 2024, according to the UNIDO.
