The Youth Forum “Culture Code – 2023” takes place at SPbU
The Youth Forum “Culture Code – 2023” ended at St. Petersburg University (SPbU). TV BRICS is the forum’s media partner.
The event was held at SPbU for the second time on the eve of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum. This year it is dedicated to three areas: “Cognition of history through culture”, “Traditional culture as a foundation for building a civilised society” and “Artificial intelligence – a threat or a boon for culture?”.
Within the framework of the forum “Cultural Code – 2023” a musical and literary evening “My Voice for You” was held, dedicated to the 225th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin. The event featured works by Russian composers of the XIX-XXI centuries, based on poetic texts and prose by Alexander Sergeyevich.
Vocal lyrics, instrumental works and opera masterpieces by Mikhail Glinka, Modest Mussorgsky, Anton Rubinstein, Sergey Rachmaninoff, Igor Stravinsky, Georgy Sviridov, Hrayr Khanedanyan and Anton Tanonov were performed by creative ensembles of students and graduates of St. Petersburg State University, students and postgraduates of the The Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory and the A. K. Glazunov Petrozavodsk Conservatoire and soloists from the Mariinsky Academy of Young Opera Singers.
The event was also actively attended by the university’s international students of philology studying on the Russian as a Foreign Language programme. In particular, students from China Cao Xiaofei and Subi Yinuer read Pushkin’s poems “I loved you” and “On hills of Georgia lies the covering of night”.
The winners of the All-Russian creative competition named after L. Verbitskaya in 2022 and 2023, in which students studying Russian language from 62 countries took part: China, Egypt, Serbia, South Korea, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, Japan, Iran, Syria, Turkmenistan, Vietnam, Cuba, Indonesia, Mongolia.
The Youth Forum “Culture Code” is a significant project of SPbU, which has been held since 2022 and is aimed at providing participants with an opportunity for discussion on issues relevant to young cultural workers in such areas as cultural policy and creative education, preservation of historical memory and cultural sovereignty, support and promotion of innovative creative ideas.
