The Council was reconstituted this year to discuss the interests of the population
On 12 December, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva participated in the second plenary session of the Council for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development (CDESS). This is reported by
Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.
During the meeting, which took place during the year, various entities presented recommendations related to public investment in agriculture, environment, and renewable energy.
In his speech, the President emphasised that financial decisions should not determine the future of the country. President Lula, along with other participants in the meeting, raised a number of important issues, such as the recovery of territories and the creation of technological centres.
The Council was reconstituted this year to discuss the interests of the population and draw up public policies for the government. It includes representatives of society and leading politicians such as Minister for Institutional Relations Alexandre Padillha.
The council has held more than 100 meetings and discussed various issues, including the changing economic situation in the country.
“Brazil, after seven years, will be able to achieve three key indicators simultaneously in 2023: economic growth of 3 per cent, controlled inflation and a reduction in the unemployment rate to 7.6 per cent,” Padilha said.
