Thailand forecasts growth in foreign tourism

The TAT has planned various events, tour itineraries and festival celebrations next year as part of measures to boost tourism

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has predicted that the number of foreign tourists in the country could reach 40 million by 2025, thanks to government measures to boost the economy and tourism sector. This is reported by
Vietnam News Agency (VNA), a partner of TV BRICS.

TAT governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said tourism in Thailand is expected to grow further next year, with 29 million tourists from near-island and 11 million from far-island. Tourism revenue is expected to increase by 7.5 per cent from 2024.

Thapanee added that TAT has planned various events, tour routes and festival celebrations as part of measures to boost tourism next year.

The authority also plans to ask airlines from India and China, Thailand’s two largest tourism markets, to increase the number of flights to the country.

It also predicts the number of foreign tourists will reach 35 million this year, generating 2.9 trillion baht (US$85.3 billion) for Thailand.
