Tensions are brewing between the newly-appointed Free State African National Congress (ANC) Youth League leadership and the outgoing 10th Provincial Executive Committee following the conference outcomes.
Former ANCYL provincial secretary Mayibuye Bangane has written to the ANCYL national executive committee calling for an investigation into the outcome of the provincial conference, citing irregularities and fraudulent activities on the list of additional members.
Bangane says the NEC members who were part of the conference equally violated the internal organisational processes.
“We are still waiting for the NEC and the SG to respond to us, on this matter so that we respond and there is also the issue of gender representative in the ANCYL. In the history of the ANC and we are a league of the ANC, comrade Mama Winnie Mandela and many other female comrades of the ANC would have fought for the inclusion of women in the structures of the ANC including in the leagues and it is only in the Free State where now there is no inclusion,” says Bangane.
