South African government funds 35 companies to participate in this year’s China International Import Expo

The companies intend to showcase products and services to potential buyers in China and other countries around the world

The 35 companies will represent various industries including processing and agriculture, textiles, garments, oil and gas. This is reported by
CCTV+, a partner of TV BRICS.

The country’s Department of Trade, Industry and Competition said CIIE 2024 is one of the leading themed import fairs in China and a key platform to present offerings to South Africa’s largest trading partner.

By funding the companies, the trade authority intends to ensure a greater presence of South African products in China.

“We’re able to bring them together under the umbrella of a national pavilion and then showcase a variety of South African products that can be consumed by the Chinese market,” said Zanele Mkhize, chief director of export promotion and marketing at the South African Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC).

China International Import Expo 2024 will take place from 5 to 10 November.
