South African delegation leaves to Zimbabwe and Zambia to strengthen trade ties

Developing business strategies to boost trade between South Africa and its neighbours is key to increasing job creation and sustainable economic growth

A delegation, supported by Invest Durban, Trade & Investment KZN (TIKZN), KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), went to Zimbabwe and Zambia to seek new trade opportunities and establish business contacts with neighbouring countries. Delegation participants planned one week of meetings, events and negotiations.

Developing business strategies to boost trade between South Africa and its neighbours is key to increasing job creation and sustainable economic growth within the SADC region. This is reported by
DUrban TV, a partner of TV BRICS.

TIKZN CEO, Sihle Ngcamu, encouraged the delegation to explore new agreements and increase mutual trade opportunities, highlighting the potential of the African Free Trade Area (AFTA), which comprises 43 countries.

While participants from the public and private spheres are seeking co-operation and projects to strengthen trade ties, the delegation will also gather important data on the business and logistics structures of Zimbabwe and Zambia, as well as the unique characteristics of each country to improve business opportunities and stimulate future business agreements.
