South Africa to have BRICS skills programme

This was revealed in an interview by the Chairman of the South African Youth Association of the association

For the first time in the history of the association, South Africa will introduce a BRICS skills programme, after passing which applicants will be able to receive a certificate, said Raymond Matlala, Founder and Chairman of the BRICS Youth Association of South Africa, in an interview with
“Za Rubejom“, a partner of TV BRICS.

The certificate will be issued by one of the largest universities in South Africa. Everyone in the Global South will be able to register for training and gain the qualification. The programme will be implemented under the auspices of the BRICS Youth Council.

Raymond Matlala emphasised the importance of young people’s participation in decision-making in multilateral arenas.

“It is today’s youth who will live with the decisions that our current leaders make. It is necessary to involve them in these processes, because the role of youth is also important to maintain peace. Economically, we need innovative ideas,” he noted.

The Chairman of the association also spoke about the projects that his structure has put into practice to involve young people in the activities of the association.

“We have already implemented a number of programmes, including the BRICS summer school. By the way, the first such school was established in China and the second one in Russia. This is the BRICS International School,” he explained.

Raymond Matlala reminded that in 2015 Kazan hosted the BRICS Youth Summit for the first time. In 2024, Russia will once again host the 10th BRICS Youth Summit.
