South Africa chooses date for the general election
The head of the party that will win will become the new president of the country
General national and regional elections in South Africa will be held on 29 May 2024, the South African presidential administration said. This is reported by Pretoria News, a partner of TV BRICS.
In his address, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa called on all eligible voters to participate “fully in this important and historic event.”
The head of state also urged those who have not yet registered at polling stations to use the online registration platform to do so.
The leader of the party that won the general election becomes the country’s new president. The currently ruling African National Congress party has already endorsed Ramaphosa as its presidential candidate.
