Sergey Lavrov: Russia to help Venezuela join BRICS
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov paid a working visit to Venezuela, during which he met with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. The head of the Russian diplomatic department assured that Russia, as BRICS chairman, will contribute to the rapprochement of Venezuela with the association. This is reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.

He praised the cooperation between Caracas and Moscow on various international platforms, as well as the joint and important contribution to “the creation of a more just and multipolar world.”
The minister also welcomed Venezuela’s interest in developing and strengthening Russia’s relations with various Latin American structures.
“We had a fruitful meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. We discussed various aspects of bilateral relations and the development of strategic co-operation between Russia and Venezuela”

Over the past 25 years, the countries have signed more than 340 agreements in important sectors such as oil, gas, health, education, technology and agriculture.
