Saudi Arabia introduces agricultural insurance scheme
The initiative aims to improve the sustainability of the agricultural sector
A new cooperative insurance programme has been introduced by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli, to guard against agricultural losses due to animal illnesses and plant pests. This is reported by the
Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The goal of the project, which is a component of Saudi Arabia’s National Transformation Programme, is to increase the agriculture sector’s resilience.
The programme is based on a cooperative solidarity model that considers the social and human aspects of agricultural sector beneficiaries, such as farmers and animal caretakers.
The project’s goal is to lessen the financial losses brought on by animal illnesses and plant pests.
