Saudi Arabia completes work on more than 6,000 mosques
66 mosques with a total area of 56,761 square meters have been improved
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has completed improvements to more than 6,000 mosques in Saudi Arabia, spending about US$133 million. This is reported by
Arab News.
Most of the work was maintenance-related, such as repairing air conditioners in major mosques and installing glass partitions in 683 mosques to save electricity.
Three mosques were also renovated, an administrative building was constructed, and 66 mosques were beautified.
The ministry also allocated more than US$7.9 million for the maintenance of four auxiliary buildings.
These measures are aimed at ensuring that mosques are clean, comfortable, and in good condition for worshippers throughout the country.
