Russian South-West State University celebrates its 60th anniversary

On the day of the holiday, the university signed agreements with its foreign partners

The Southwest State University (SWSU) in Kursk Region celebrated its 60th anniversary. The event, which was attended by guests from various countries, including embassy officials, representatives of partner universities, representatives of local authorities, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, and representatives of companies cooperating with the university, saw the signing of numerous cooperation agreements between the University and its foreign partners. 

These agreements are aimed at the development of student exchange programmes and provide an opportunity for students from different countries to study at the university. This is reported by

The anniversary celebration began with a congratulatory speech by the university’s rector, Sergey Emelyanov, who highlighted the university’s achievements over the past six decades and expressed gratitude to all supporters and participants of its success. 

The event concluded with a performance by university students, demonstrating the diverse and inclusive nature of Southwestern State University.

Today, SWSU has more than 11,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, including about 800 international students. It trains specialists of secondary vocational and higher education in 150 specialities.
