Vladimir Putin, Russian President, held telephone talks with Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is reported by the official

The leaders expressed readiness to further actively develop friendly ties and mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries. They noted the effectiveness of coordination between the two states in the OPEC+ format.

Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud warmly congratulated Vladimir Putin on his victory in the Russian presidential election. The Russian leader, in turn, asked to convey his best wishes to the Saudi king and congratulated the people of the Kingdom on the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Saudi Arabia officially joined BRICS on 1 January 2024. The Kingdom received an invitation to join the alliance following a summit in Johannesburg in August 2023.
