Russian Institute plans further expansion of the Geological School and cooperation in Africa
Russian-African cooperation in the field of science continues to grow
Promoting and growing education across Africa is a top priority for the Karpinsky Russian Geological Research Institute, the nation’s preeminent organisation in the field of geological study. This is reported by
ENA.
The programme is intended to develop best practices and exchange programmes with friendly nations, according to Pavel Khimchenko, Director General of the institute.
Additionally, a geology seminar and an exhibition were held in Addis Ababa by the Karpinsky Geological Research Institute.
Pavel Khimchenko clarified that the institute wanted to see numerous increased geological programmes and schools in different African nations.
Ethiopia has started to properly map its geological features in an effort to bring in investment for its abundant mineral resources and mining industry, which have not yet resulted in financial success.
For over a century, Ethiopia and Russia have upheld diplomatic ties, and going forward, both nations intend to expand their collaboration in a number of areas, including geology.
