Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will soon pay an official visit to China for talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

“The visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to the People’s Republic of China will take place in the near future. Negotiations with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi are envisaged,” she said during the briefing.

The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman noted that the diplomats will discuss issues of bilateral cooperation. Emphasis will be placed on joint work in BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), G20, the UN and other mechanisms.
