Russian Creative Week – Siberia festival-forum announces launch of AI development centre
Experts from different regions of Russia discussed the prospects for the development of the creative economy
The fourth regional festival-forum “Russian Creative Week – Siberia” ended in Krasnoyarsk. The event brought together more than 120 speakers, and the business programme included about 40 different thematic discussions, lectures, master classes and foresight sessions. TV BRICS acted as the international media partner of the forum.
At the meeting, Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov stressed the importance of creative industries for economic development: their contribution to the gross regional product is currently 2.9 per cent, and it is planned to double this figure by 2030. According to him, their total turnover has exceeded 70 billion rubles (US$672 million), and the number of people employed in this sphere – more than 20 thousand people.
The key events of the forum were foresight sessions, where representatives of federal and regional authorities, business and experts from all over the country discussed the introduction of value guidelines in the development strategy of creative industries and the creation of a “map” of a comfortable city in Siberia.
In addition, the launch of an artificial intelligence development centre in Krasnoyarsk was announced at the meeting. This project will become part of the region’s emerging scientific and educational cluster.
During the discussions, the experts touched upon a wide range of creative economy sectors: from media, animation and video games to industrial design, tourism and architecture. The central topic was the development of human resources. The participants noted that the creation of creative clusters and spaces could be a solution to attract young professionals to Siberia.
“This year the forum was held in an updated format: maximum practice for regional teams, a lot of group work, strategic and foresight sessions. The task we set for ourselves is to saturate managers in the creative industries with cases and proposals for the implementation of strategies for the development of creative economy in the subjects,” said the Director of the festival-forum, president of the autonomous non-commercial organisation “Creative Economy” Marina Mongush (Abramova).
The organisers of “Russian Creative Week – Siberia” are ANO “Creative Economy” and ANO “Siberian Institute for the Development of Creative Industries”. The festival-forum is designed to build an effective dialogue between the state and business.
