Russian Centre for Science and Culture holds event on robotics and innovation in Ethiopia
The Russian Centre for Science and Culture (The Pushkin House) held the “Days of robotics and innovative educational technologies in Ethiopia” in Addis Ababa. The event is part of the action plan of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, aimed at developing cooperation between Russia and African countries.
During the event, Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia Evgeny Terekhin emphasised Russia’s readiness to cooperate with Ethiopia in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). He emphasised the growing importance of artificial intelligence in everyday life and reiterated Russia’s readiness to share its knowledge in this field.
The Ambassador invited Ethiopian students interested in AI to apply for scholarships from the Russian government to study at specialised universities in Russia. This is reported by

Aleksander Evstigneev, director of Pushkin House, spoke about the centre’s efforts to attract Ethiopian students to science and technology, noting that Robotics Day is a key component of these initiatives. The centre also offers classes in Russian language and geology to strengthen educational ties and cultural exchange between the two countries.
The first day featured presentations on the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia, as well as lectures, workshops on robotics and virtual reality, masterclasses on spacecraft assembly and programming, gaming tournaments and hands-on VR game development sessions with demonstrations of various educational and industrial robots.
