Russian Ambassador to Egypt Georgy Borisenko: BRICS aims to create new framework for global economic, political and social relations
Egypt is a significant partner for Russia, acting as gateway to Africa, said Russian Ambassador to Egypt Georgiy Borisenko in an interview with
Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.
He also emphasised that under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, the countries have moved into a new era of cooperation by signing a strategic partnership that came into effect in 2021. The partnership is expressed, for example, through the construction of Egypt’s first nuclear power plant in El-Dabaa with the help of Russia.
He noted that over the past three decades, the world has witnessed the rapid development of China and India, and now we can see the progress of Brazil and several other countries.
“Our objective as a collective is to establish a new framework for global economic, political, and social relations. <…> We are confident that the Arab world has the potential to become an influential pole in this new multipolar world, with Egypt at its core. Arab countries possess significant financial, agricultural, and industrial resources”
