Russia to provide Ethiopia with mobile laboratories aimed at strengthening health care

Russia continues to expand its partnership with African countries in the field of healthcare

By the end of this year, Russia will deliver mobile health laboratories to Ethiopia as part of its efforts to bolster the country’s healthcare system, as reported by
Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC), a partner of TV BRICS.

This announcement was made by Tatyana Golikova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, during the 3D International Exercise for Rapid Response Mobile Laboratories.

“The geographical scope of Russian mobile laboratories is expanding. This year they have been deployed in Burundi and Uganda, and by the end of the year Russian laboratories will be delivered to the Republic of Congo and Ethiopia,” Golikova emphasised.

Russia is also contributing to the fight against infectious diseases across Africa.

“Russia is fruitfully cooperating in 5 projects with its closest neighbours in the Commonwealth of Independent States, with whom we share a common epidemiological space,” said the Russian Deputy Prime Minister.

In addition, Russia has established four research centres focused on infectious diseases in Guinea, Vietnam, Venezuela, and Burundi, where Russian experts work alongside their international counterparts.

The provision of mobile laboratories and the enhancement of cooperation in public health represent Russia’s significant contribution to improving healthcare infrastructure in Africa and combating the spread of infectious diseases.
