Russia and Iran prepare an agreement on mutual recognition of higher education diplomas

According to Hadi Goudarzi, Counsellor of the Iranian Embassy in the Russian Federation, Russia and Iran are planning to conclude an agreement on mutual recognition of university diplomas. This is reported by

The document will cover the recognition of bachelor’s, master’s, postgraduate and doctoral diplomas. The document is already in the final stage of discussion and is expected to be signed at the level of the governments of both countries in the near future.
“More than 90 per cent of the agreement is ready, I think it will be signed at the level of the governments of Iran and Russia in the near future,” he said.
In addition, Russia and Iran have already started active cooperation in the field of science and university co-operation within the BRICS framework. There are plans to prepare new treaties on scientific and practical co-operation within the framework of the association in the future.
“I think there will be a lot of meetings between us during this year where new treaties on scientific and practical cooperation within the BRICS framework can be proposed,” he added.
Iran, along with Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia, became a full member of BRICS on 1 January this year.
