Russia and Iran assess prospects for co-operation in pharmaceuticals and nanotechnologies

In addition, the parties will consider the development of scientific and educational exchanges

Russian presidential aide Andrei Fursenko has said that the most promising areas between Russia and Iran in the field of science are pharmaceuticals and nanotechnology.

He told
TASS on the margins of the III Young Scientists Congress, which is taking place in the Sirius Park of Science and Art from 28 to 30 November. The event included a session dedicated to partnership relations between the two states.

The official noted that Iran has excelled in the field of pharmaceuticals, while the country is also well-developed in the creation of nanomaterials.

In addition, Fursenko called promising cooperation between the two countries in the space industry and the activation of scientific and educational exchanges between Russian and Iranian universities.

It should be noted that the III III Young Scientists Congress provides a major platform for dialogue between advanced and fundamental science, state authorities and the real sector of the economy.

Iran may join the BRICS group from 1 January as a full member of the association along with other states invited to the XV BRICS summit. They also include Argentina, Ethiopia, UAE, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
