The Franklin Rawson Provincial Museum of Fine Arts in San Juan, Argentina, hosted an exhibition on traditional Russian clothing. This is reported by

The exhibition features a variety of traditional costumes, such as the “sarafan”, a long sleeveless dress worn with a long-sleeved white shirt, and the “rubakha”, an ancient version of the shirt worn by both men and women.

Notable examples include the “kokoshnik”, traditional Russian headdresses adorning women’s heads. They were made of fine materials and decorated with pearls as well as embroidery and became an iconic symbol of Russian fashion.

The exhibition also presents photographic reproductions of 19th and 20th century works of art depicting the kokoshnik, accompanied by explanatory texts about its history and evolution. This headdress, dating back to Old Russian customs, was traditionally worn by women during solemn ceremonies, especially marriage, until the 20th century.
