Putin supports Russian farmers’ proposal to set up BRICS grain exchange
According to experts, this will make it possible to plan long-term supplies
Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with agrarians supported the proposal of the Union of Exporters to create a BRICS grain exchange. This is reported by the official
website of the President of the Russian Federation.

Eduard Zernin, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Grain Exporters, proposed the creation of a BRICS grain exchange and the formation of price indicators on it. He noted that such a strategic advantage would allow to plan long-term supplies and confidently go towards the goal of increasing exports of grain products.
Earlier it was reported that representatives of antimonopoly authorities of BRICS countries discussed grain supplies in Egypt. Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service Andrey Tsyganov praised Egypt’s active role in competition protection legislation and emphasised the importance of bilateral and international cooperation in addressing such strategic issues as food security.
