Putin orders to expand measures to support the creation of charging infrastructure for electric cars

A pilot project to create electric charging stations will start in 2022

Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the government together with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) to expand measures to support the creation of charging infrastructure for electric cars. This is reported by the official website of the Russian President.

“Consider the issue of extending measures to support the creation of infrastructure for fast charging of electric road transport to the creation of infrastructure for slow charging of such transport”, stated in the published list of instructions of the head of state.

Installation of fast charging stations is subsidised by the state: up to 60 per cent of the cost of charging (US$20,060) and up to 30 per cent (US$9,700) of the actual costs of technical connection to the power grid are reimbursed.
