Russian President Vladimir Putin and Interim Iranian President Mohammad Mokhber discussed issues of further mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in key areas. The parties noted the successfully progressing co-operation in the energy sector and implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects.

Vladimir Putin wished the people of Iran a successful holding of the upcoming presidential elections, stressing confidence that Russian-Iranian friendly relations will continue to develop on an upward trajectory.

Extraordinary presidential elections will be held in Iran on 28 June.
