Progress in education: South African province achieved record exam results
The Premier of Limpopo has thanked teachers and learners for their efforts
The average matriculation rate in Limpopo has reached 79.5 per cent, up 7.4 per cent from last year.
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga congratulated Limpopo on these results. Limpopo Prime Minister Stanley Mathabatha also expressed his gratitude to all those who were actively involved in achieving these results.
Limpopo’s success is the testament to the collective efforts of students, teachers, parents and the entire education community in the province.
An important aim of he future development of education in Limpopo will be to create a conducive learning environment and achieve an examination pass rate of at least 80 per cent, Mathabatha said. This is reported by

The African National Congress (ANC) Limpopo also applauds the achievements of the graduates and emphasises the importance of the Limpopo government investing in education, creating new facilities and providing food and transport for learners.
“As the ANC of Limpopo, we commend the achievements of the Limpopo Education Department and the entire team for their efforts . The ANC government’s significant investment in education is paying off as evidenced by the over 150 infrastructure projects implemented in the last 5 years,” said ANC Secretary Reuben Madadzhe.
