Industrial production in Rio de Janeiro state rises by 1.7%
In recent years, the Rio de Janeiro government has more closely monitored the process of granting tax incentives
Industrial production in the state of Rio de Janeiro grew by 1.7 per cent between July and August, above the national average of 0.4 per cent. These figures are reported in the regional monthly industrial production survey (PIM) released last week by IBGE.
“In recent years, the government of Rio de Janeiro has been more closely monitoring the process of providing tax incentives. These actions have made it possible to provide the state with advantages for the business community – a legal certainty that investments will be made within Rio de Janeiro,” said the Governor Claudio Castro.
According to IBGE, year-on-year growth (August 2022 versus August 2023) was 3.9 per cent. As a result, industrial production in Rio de Janeiro rose 5.1 per cent over the past 12 months and 4.1 per cent in the first eight months of this year, from January to August, as reported by Toda Palavra, a partner of the TV BRICS.
“We are using all available tools to improve Rio de Janeiro’s industrial competitiveness and reindustrialise the state, contributing to job creation and income growth,” said Minister of Economic Development, Industry, Trade and Services Vinicius Farah.
