Plan to develop environmental education in the world is presented at a congress in the UAE

The document emphasises artificial intelligence and ethical issues

International experts showcased a global roadmap for environmental education (EE) and sustainable development education (SDE) at the WEEC2024 World Congress in the UAE. The document focuses on artificial intelligence, ethical issues, and the creation of green jobs, reports ANI, a partner of the TV BRICS.

The development plan was presented by Ahmed Baharoon, executive director of environmental information, science and outreach management at the Abu Dhabi Environmental Protection Agency.

The experts recommend developing the scope of EE and ESD, as well as ensuring that programmes related to these concepts are on the global agenda. The plan also encourages the use of artificial intelligence to achieve environmental goals.

The document was developed with the participation of organisations and government agencies from 83 countries, including UNESCO, the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the UAE Ministry of Education, and the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.
