Russian Prosecutor General proposes to set up permanent working group with colleagues from the UAE
Representatives of the Emirates’ supervisory authority have already started active work on the BRICS platform
Participation of representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in BRICS and SCO events is valuable for the development of multilateral co-operation in the legal sphere, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said.
“I am pleased to note that the Prosecutor General’s Office of the UAE has already started active work on the BRICS platform, and your personal participation in the sixth meeting of heads of prosecutorial services of the member states of the association planned for June this year in St. Petersburg is very valuable for the development of cooperation in this format,” Krasnov stressed at a meeting with UAE Prosecutor General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi. This is reported by the
press service of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office.
The head of the Russian supervisory agency noted that in the conditions of ubiquitous digitalisation, it is important for prosecutors to be competent not only in jurisprudence, but also in the field of high technology in order to effectively fight crime.
“I consider it useful to discuss such developments. Undoubtedly, your experience will be of interest to all partners from BRICS countries,” Igor Krasnov said.
To ensure prompt exchange of information between representatives of the competent authorities of the two countries, the Russian Prosecutor General proposed to his Emirati counterpart to set up a permanent working group.
