New initiatives to strengthen BRICS partnership are discussed at session in Russia

Within the framework of Russia’s chairmanship of the Business Council this year, the active promotion of initiatives aimed at strengthening the BRICS partnership continues

Vladimir Padalko, the Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, spoke at the session titled “Looking into the future: joining BRICS and developing trade” during the conference “BRICS 2.0 – new countries and new opportunities.” The event was organized by the Russian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Russia).

Speaking at the session, Padalko highlighted the crucial role of the BRICS Business Council in advancing trade, economic, and business relations. He acknowledged the positive experience accumulated over the BC’s decade of work. This is reported by the
website of the Chamber Of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

During Russia’s chairmanship in the Business Council this year, efforts are being made to strengthen the BRICS partnership through initiatives like enhancing trade regulation, improving market openness, fostering a favorable investment climate, and developing sustainable infrastructure for foreign economic activities within the association.

Andrey Teryokhin, Russia’s Trade Representative to the UAE, also delivered a presentation on the Emirates’ economy, foreign economic policy priorities, and their approach to BRICS membership during the session.

The participants discussed the concept of establishing an independent international settlement system and showcased the benefits of BRICS membership for member countries.

Trade representatives from India, Iran, and the UAE also shared insights on cooperation with Russia and their respective countries’ engagement in BRICS collaboration.
