More than 2.9 thousand people take part in the international forum DID x AI IN 2024
The event included the launch of the Game Development Centre and the opening of two digital laboratories
Innopolis hosted the international forum Digital Innopolis Days x AI IN 2024 (DID x AI IN) on robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), innovations in education and training. The event, organised by Innopolis University, a partner of the TV BRICS network, was attended by 2,940 participants from 11 countries and 154 cities of the Russian Federation.
During the plenary session “Prospects for robotisation in Russia: converting problems and challenges”, national robotisation projects and key industry challenges were discussed. Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Maksim Oreshkin, Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov, Deputy Minister of Energy Eduard Sheremettsev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin participated in the discussion.
In addition, the delegation of federal ministers visited Innopark, where Roman Shaikhutdinov, Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, and Iskander Bariev, Director of Innopolis University, presented developments in AI and robotics, including a new drone capable of climbing to a height of 2,500 metres, flying at a speed of 80 kilometres per hour and carrying a payload of up to 1.5 kilogrammes.
Twenty agreements were signed on the forum’s business platform, including eight major co-operation agreements between Innopolis University and partners in the field of unmanned aircraft systems. The companies will work on the creation and modernisation of equipment, as well as on the joint organisation of research, development and technological work in this area.
In addition, the Advanced Engineering School of Innopolis University opened two new digital laboratories. The first one will be used to train students in AI and data analysis, while the second one will be used to create software.
Special attention at the forum was paid to the launch of the Game Development Centre, which will support game startups. Three projects selected at the Game Day pitch session have already received funding worth 1 million roubles.
The forum also included events included in the calendar of events of Russia’s BRICS Chairmanship: the 7th meeting of the BRICS Working Group for the Development of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Partnership in Science and Technology and the BRICS Innovation Forum. The latter was attended by representatives of China, UAE, Brazil, India, Egypt, Ethiopia, South Africa and Iran.
The forum was organised by the Kazan Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the support of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The participants discussed issues related to the peculiarities of the national innovation policies of the unification states.
