‘Mboweni would have liked to see the renewal of the ANC’

African National Congress (ANC) Limpopo spokesperson Jimmy Machaka says late former National Executive Committee (NEC) member Tito Mboweni was concerned about a number of party members who have been implicated in corruption.

NEC members facing corruption charges include Zizi Kodwa, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula and Pule Mabe.

The ANC in Limpopo held a memorial service for Mboweni in a community hall in Nkowankowa village in Tzaneen last night.

Machaka says Mboweni would have liked to see the renewal of the ANC.

He says, “He was worried that many of the ANC leaders are found in the media for the wrong reasons, being accused of being unethical, being accused of corruption and many other issues that are negatively affecting the society.”

“He would have loved the ANC being renewed, he would have loved to see that ANC being united and see government being able to deliver basic services to the people of Limpopo and the people of South Africa as a whole,” Machaka adds.
