Masoud Pezeshkian and Mikhail Mishustin hold talks in Tehran
This is the first official trip of the Russian Prime Minister to Iran
During an official visit to Iran, the Prime Minister of Russia, Mikhail Mishustin, held a meeting with the country’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian. This was reported on the official website of the Russian government.
The parties discussed the main areas of cooperation and noted the high pace of development of interaction between the two countries.
The head of the Russian government mentioned that in 7 months, the trade turnover grew by 6.5 per cent. At the same time, the possibilities for deepening partnerships are not limited to this sphere.

He also pointed out that this was his first visit to Tehran as Prime Minister.
In turn, Masoud Pezeshkian spoke about the good neighbourly nature of bilateral relations and the need to strengthen them. According to him, the positions of Moscow and Tehran coincide on major international issues. The President also highlighted the leading role that the BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation play on the world stage.
Earlier, Mikhail Mishustin met with the First Vice President of Iran, Mohammad Reza Aref. During the negotiations, issues such as expanding trade and economic ties, creating a favourable investment climate, developing logistical infrastructure, and strengthening partnerships in the fields of education and tourism were discussed.
