Many jobs have been created in South Africa in tourism and garment manufacturing

The latest figures show that 154,442 tourism jobs were created between 2021 and 2022, bringing the total number of jobs to 214,909. This is reported by
official website of the South African government.

Minister of Finance and Economic Opportunities for the Western Cape Province, Mireille Wenger, said the inclusion of the private sector in the workplace has contributed to job creation.

She expressed pride in the work that the Economic Development and Tourism Department has done with the private sector.

She also highlighted the significant results of the department’s targeted programmes this year, including the apparel and textile training and employment programmes, which have created 402 jobs.

A partnership was also established with a local airport management company in South Africa to send 124 unemployed youth to Cape Town Airport to assist travellers.
