Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has reacted to the news of the party’s former Chairperson, Advocate Dali Mpofu’s departure from the organisation.
In a post on social media platform X, Malema says the party will remain standing and it is not going anywhere under ‘a criminal syndicate,’ supposedly referring to the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.
Mpofu announced his departure from the Red Berets and confirmed that he would be joining the official opposition.
The EFF is likely to see its upcoming elective conference as an opportunity to head back to the drawing board with its leader looking to reassert his power.
The third National People’s Assembly will be held in December without some of its senior leaders following a mass exodus from the party.
In the post on X, Malema wrote that there were only two prominent members that remained but added that their hearts are no longer in the EFF.
