Lula da Silva holds telephone conversation with Putin

The heads of state discussed bilateral relations and the upcoming BRICS summit

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva held a telephone conversation with the Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. This is reported by
Metropoles, a partner of TV BRICS.

They discussed the development of bilateral relations, including in the format of strategic partnership. They touched upon cooperation in trade, agriculture, energy and industry.

Russian President thanked his Brazilian counterpart for supporting the priorities of Russia’s BRICS Chairmanship and spoke about preparations for the BRICS Summit to be held in Kazan on 22-24 October. Leaders agreed to meet on the margins of the event and discussed the schedule of future bilateral contacts.

In addition, the two sides expressed readiness to develop cooperation in various international forums, including within the framework of the G20, where Brazil currently holds the chairmanship.
