Leaders of Colombia and Brazil inaugurate book fair in Bogota
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, on an official visit to Colombia, said he was honoured to have his country as guest of honour at the exhibition, which he described as one of the most important in Latin America.
He also emphasised a shared commitment to the environment, “we share the world’s largest rainforest, an unrivalled store of biodiversity and a source of valuable knowledge and technology”.
During the Bogota International Book Fair, some 2,300 events will take place in various pavilions, at least 25 foreign delegations are expected to arrive and more than half a million people are expected to attend, according to organisers. This is reported by

The event marks the 100th anniversary of the publication of the novel La Voragine by Colombian writer Jose Eustacio Rivera.
