Kazakhstan considers possibility of introducing air taxis
Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Dmitry Mun spoke about the global practice of digitalisation of the aviation industry, according to
Kazinform, a partner of TV BRICS.
He noted that the world is already developing fully automatic aeroplanes that can take off and land without a pilot, relying only on artificial intelligence and cameras.
The official emphasised that China is already testing the introduction of an intercity aerotaxi, which will be able to reduce travel time from several hours to 40-60 minutes.
The Vice-Minister emphasised that Kazakh airlines should consider introducing internet on board and also create comprehensive legislation governing air taxi flights, including safety standards and pilot licensing.
“With VR headsets, future pilots can train in a realistic aircraft cockpit, which significantly reduces the cost and time of training,” said Dmitry Mun.
