Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum supports projects of more than 50 knowledge-intensive companies

The ministry is making efforts to support domestic producers

Iran’s Oil Ministry has created a stable market for knowledge-intensive companies, said Mehdi Abbasi, assistant and advisor to the head of the Department of Engineering, Research and Technology (DOERT).

He recalled that the department supervises 62 projects of 51 such companies. Agreements worth US$5,2 billion have been signed with the President’s Office for Science, Technology and Science-Intensive Economy to support Iranian manufacturers. This is reported by
Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.

The official added that in 2021, only 150 scientists and developers cooperated with the oil ministry, but now the number stands at 663. He pointed out that the authorities are trying to support Iranian researchers.

Mehdi Abbasi explained that the authority has promoted the export of knowledge-intensive companies’ products: subsidiaries have carried out overhauls and upgrades of oil refineries (refineries) in some foreign countries. For example, 2,7 million products of Iranian manufacturers were supplied to Venezuela to overhaul the El Palito refinery.
