Iran’s agricultural exports grow by 28% in seven months

According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, the value of Iran’s agricultural exports rose by 28 per cent in the first seven months of the current calendar year, reaching a total of US$2.2 billion.

According to the customs report, the total weight of agricultural products exported during this period was 3.8 million tonnes, up 16 per cent compared to the same period last year. This is reported by

The leading exports were various types of pistachios worth US$614 million, followed by tomatoes worth US$226 million, watermelons worth US$139 million, apples worth US$124 million and dates worth US$123 million. 

Notably, exports of pistachios grew by 192 per cent, while tomatoes and apples grew by 18 per cent and 46 per cent respectively. Dates also grew by 19 per cent, although watermelon exports fell slightly by 6 per cent.
